2nd Annual Adoption Awareness 5k

This event is put on by Broken Together, a ministry that encourages us all to be the hands and feet of Jesus (1 Corinthians 12:27). Donations from this 5k help a local family that is currently in the adoption process. We also hope to continue raising awareness of the adoption needs that exist, and how people can help even if adoption is not their specific calling. Ultimately as we support the local family we pray the Lord blesses this season of their lives and hope the donation will bring encouragement along the way.

We know adoption does not stop once the adoption process is complete. This is only the beginning of a new journey into the family’s life. Our vision is to build community for a cause that goes beyond the process of adoption. We hope that through this 5K relationships will be built, prayer partners will form, and a community of people will form together and be a part of something bigger than themselves.

This event is also reaching out into a community and asking them to walk and run together for not only an amazing cause, but also for their health. Exercise is such a pivotal part of a person’s life yet it’s often neglected because of the busy lives we lead.   We pray that this 5K will encourage a community to get up and move toward an attainable goal. It is our hope that people will embrace God’s beautiful creation as they get out in the fresh air to walk or run. It is our hope that people will understand the beauty of the Hands and Feet God has blessed us with.
